Renew or extend your subscription

What Access Period, Carry learners forward and Auto-renew mean on your order, and the easiest way to change any of them.

Last updated 23 May 2026

Your order has a few settings that control how long your team has access and what happens at the end of each period. Here’s what they mean, where to spot them, and how to change them.

The three things to know

  • Access Period — the dates your team can use the course.
  • Carry learners forward — what happens to your people when a new period starts.
  • Auto-renew — whether your subscription rolls on into the next period automatically.

Where to see your current settings

  1. Sign in and click Manage training in the sidebar.
  2. Open the order you want to review.
  3. Look at the strip across the top of the order page — this is your at-a-glance summary.

The Access tile on the right shows how many days are left and the expiry date — it turns amber as the end of your period gets close, so you know when to think about renewing.

What each setting means

Access Period

The window of time your team currently has access to the course. When you reach the end date, what happens next depends on the other two settings.

Carry learners forward

When your access period ends and a new one begins, Carry learners forward decides what happens to the people who were on the previous period.

  • On — everyone currently enrolled carries on into the new period. They keep their progress and certificates.
  • Off — the new period starts fresh with no enrolments. You add people again from scratch.

Auto-renew

When this is on, your subscription continues automatically into the next period without you having to do anything. When it’s off, your access ends on the expiry date and you need to renew manually.

How to change any of them

To keep things simple and avoid accidental changes, these settings aren’t flipped on and off from inside the app for most people — we handle the change for you. Email support@demed.co.uk with what you’d like to do and we’ll sort it, usually the same working day.

The more of these you can mention up front, the quicker we can help:

  • The order name or order ID you’re asking about.
  • Whether you’d like more seats, a longer period, or both.
  • Whether you’d like everyone on your current period to roll over, or to start fresh.
  • Whether to turn auto-renew on or off.

Subject: Renew order #ORD-001234 — add 10 seats

Hi team,

Please could you renew our subscription for another year?

  • Order: Sunnyvale Care Home (ORD-001234)
  • Seats: add 10 on top of our existing 25
  • Carry learners forward: yes please — keep our current people in
  • Auto-renew: turn on

Thanks!

What happens if my access ends

If your subscription ends without being renewed, your team won’t be able to start new lessons. People who already passed and earned a certificate keep their certificate — certificates don’t expire when an order does.

Common questions

How do I know when I’m due for renewal? The Access tile on the order page shows days left and turns amber as the end approaches. The Report tab’s Period card has the same info.

Can I add seats mid-period? Yes. Email support@demed.co.uk and we’ll top up your order.

Can I downgrade or pause? Get in touch and we’ll talk through the options.

Still stuck?

Email support@demed.co.uk and we’ll help you sort it.
